Who are We?

We are a community band of dedicated musicians homed in New Braunfels, Texas, on IH35 between Austin and San Antonio.  Our musicians come from up to a one hundred mile radius of this small community rich in German heritage.  We practice monthly and enjoy playing German Brass Band music.  We regularly play together with similar groups from Fredericksburg and Boerne, Texas as well as San Antonio Beethoven.  One of our larger venues is the annual Wurstfest, a New Braunfels Classic.  We also play for several area churches on an annual basis as well as several other venues.

We imitate the brass bands of Germany and Austria of the 1800s. This means we have no saxophones, accordions or double reed instruments. We use two flugelhorn and three trumpet parts as well as three trombone parts. In addition to E-flat and B-flat clarinets, we also use flute and piccolo parts. The end result is a bigger sound than many bands produce today. We like the unique and historic effect this has upon our music, and we hope you'll enjoy it too.

Recordings

At several occasions over the last several years, we have recorded our work. We have those recordings available on cassette tape and compact disk. We sell those recordings at our concerts or via Al Meixner's website. Eventually, we'll make them available via this site as well.
